National Weather Service

WednesdayApril11

Milder temperatures can be expected through the second half of the week, as winds turn southerly. With the warmer weather, shower and thunderstorm chances will increase as well, mainly from Thursday night into the weekend. Far northern IL and locations along the immediate Lake Michigan shore will be coolest over the next few days, while areas south of I-80 warm solidly into the 60’s and 70’s. Unfortunately, the warmer weather looks to be short-lived, with a return to cooler than average temperatures Sunday into early next week.

Temperatures will drop to sub normal on Sunday. So we get teased with the 70s only to get smacked in the face with 40s and 30s from Sunday onto next Tuesday. Nighttime temps will dip below freezing from Sunday night into Tuesday. So be cautious when planting. Maybe next weekend will be a better environment for planting those flowers and veggies. We all know you can use more flowers and veggies in your life.
