For Tuesday as the surface low moves overhead this will set the stage for more convective snow showers, especially over northern Illinois. It appears that these showers will remain somewhat scattered about, which will limit snow accumulations, especially with temperatures likely to rise a few degrees above freezing outside of the showers. However, under these snow showers it may snow moderate to heavy for short periods. For this reason some areas could experience some minor accumulations. It will be mainly cool and breezy Wednesday and Thursday, possibly with a few flurries. High temperatures will struggle to get much above the low to mid 30s.
Several positives, the water levels have receded so there is less of a chance of flooding. Second, we had a few nice sunny days to remember as we go through this week. So suck it up ad look at the positives as we go through some cold cloudy days this week. Next chance for a day like Saturday and Sunday will be this upcoming Saturday. Just look at it this way, some of you could be in a hospital, some reviewing tapes of recitals for first year violin students or some could be in jail. So think about that cupcake. Smile and think positive. There is nothing we can do about this stuff outside. Smile! 😉
Today Snow showers likely, possibly mixed with rain. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 40. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
