Friday12

Winter weather returns to northern Illinois and northwest Indiana with colder temperatures and lake effect snows in the forecast. Temperatures will be in the 20s on Friday and only reach the teens Saturday and Sunday. Lake effect snows will affect extreme northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana beginning Friday morning and continuing into Saturday. However, away from the lake dry conditions will be the rule. Told you guys. Those of you out there dancing in your shorts and t-shirts….Bamb! It continues from the weekend in the teens to the following week in the teens and single digit temperatures. Again as most of you complain, it’s been a pretty normal winter for the midwest and Chicago area. Expect some high winds up to 30 mph, which should make that dip in temperature seem even more interesting.
Yep, we are looking at wind chills down to -3 on Friday night. You guessed it cupcake… We are going to issue a Randy Advisory for most of the weekend. A Randy Advisory is issued when the wind chills approach or are below zero consistently. There will be a small reprise from the sub zero wind chills on Sunday evening into Monday, then we take a nosedive again. Be cautious driving. That mix known as wintery will be coating roadways, turning normally dry driving surfaces into bumper car rides. Have fun!
