The bitterly cold weather will continue through the rest of the work week and to start the weekend. A period of snow showers is likely ahead of a reinforcing shot of cold air tonight into early Wednesday. The rest of Wednesday will be breezy and cold. Lake effect snow showers will affect parts of northern Indiana into southwest Michigan Wednesday through Thursday, with the most likely window of impact for northeast Porter County Wednesday evening through Thursday morning or mid day. While uncertainty remains in the snow accumulation forecast, a few to several inches are possible. Looking ahead to the weekend, our best shot at temperatures near or even slightly above freezing will be on Sunday, accompanied by a threat for wintry precipitation.
