Thursday28

There’s no end in sight yet to the very cold to bitterly cold weather, with another reinforcing shot of Arctic air arriving for the holiday weekend. In addition to the cold, there will be periodic bouts of snow, first on Thursday, then for at least portions of the area Friday afternoon into Friday night, and finally the potential for lake effect snow Saturday night through Sunday night. Continue to follow proper cold safety precautions and stay tuned for the latest forecast updates regarding snow potential at weather.gov/Chicago. Seriously, if you know of someone that has been displaced, or without a home or warm place to stay,  please get them to a warm safe place. You will probably save a life. Call your local law enforcement. They often have information on warming or homeless shelters.

(Randy Advisory) – Due to the extremely low temperatures and associated windchill The Bill Moran Show meteorologists are issuing a Randy Advisory. Any time you see the figure below, please know a Randy Advisory has been issued and you should dress accordingly during any outside activity.

Although the precipitation will not be significant, we will leave this right here for you radar enthousiast. We know who you are. As soon as that blob on the radar appears you are down at the Town & County or Strack & Van Til buying up all the milk, eggs and those apple fritters that we all know you don’t really need. While we are at it let’s talk shopping cart courtesy. There is really nothing to see in front of the Pop Tarts. Nothing to see here! Move along please. Oh and let’s just block the whole flippin isle, after all there is no one else except you in this store right?! Do you really have eight items or less Mr or Mrs. Two Shopping Cart Shopper!
